JOB SUMMARY 

Our client, a reputable oilfield service company, is ready to hire a Contract & Commercial Engineer to handle her contracts administration and commercial operations. They will be responsible for the effective management of contracts, purchase orders, quotations, tenders, variations, claims, invoicing support and client/vendor relationships.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, HSE and Management teams to ensure that contractual obligations are met and that the company’s commercial interests are protected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Review and administer contracts, purchase orders, work orders and service agreements.
• Monitor contract scope, rates, deliverables, payment terms and obligations.
• Prepare and review quotations, commercial offers and tender submissions.
• Responsible for renewal of statutory documents like DPR, NSITF, NCEC, NOGIC, ITF, Pension etc, ensure all CAC requirements are updated
• ⁠Ensure active status on bid platforms like NIPEX etc
• Support business development and actively participate in tendering activities
• Assist in the preparation on yearly audited reports⁠
• Track Purchase Orders and ensure adequate contractual coverage for services rendered.
• Coordinate with Operations to obtain signed timesheets, service reports, job tickets and other billing documentation.
• Support timely invoice submission and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Identify and document variations, additional work, standby, delays and other potential contractual claims.
• Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, extensions and amendments.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal departments on contractual and commercial matters.
• Monitor contract expiry dates and ensure timely renewal or extension.
• Prepare contract, commercial, purchase order and receivables reports for Management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract and commercial records.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and escalate significant issues to Management.
• Perform other contract/commercial duties assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Engineering, Business Administration, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• 5 years relevant experience in contract/commercial management, preferably in the oil & gas, oilfield services, engineering, construction or equipment rental industry.
• Good understanding of oil & gas service contracts and commercial practices.
• Experience with Purchase Orders, quotations, invoicing, claims and variations.

PROFESSIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS

• Professional certifications in contract management, procurement, project management or commercial management will be an advantage. 
• COREN/NSE or other relevant professional affiliations will also be advantageous where applicable

• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts, clients and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel to client offices, project sites and operational locations when required.
